Welcome to The Daily Reset. A chill article series where I try and bring y’all the biggest headlines for the day, at the end of the day, so you can wind down and enjoy a relaxing night while keeping up-to-date on what’s going on in the games industry.

Okay.

2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) concerns delay Animal Crossing-themed switch and Outer Worlds’ switch port indefinitely

The 2019 novel coronavirus, also known as 2019-nCoV, is a newly discovered virus that has led to a recent outbreak of respiratory illness. 2019-nCoV was first identified in Wuhan, China, and now Nintendo has announced that Chinese production and shipment has been impacted and delays are incoming.

Shipments of the Nintendo Switch, peripherals, Ring Fit Adventure, and the Animal Crossing switch have been delayed. The new Nintendo Switch, themed after the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons, has cast a spell on gamers everywhere and people are opening their wallets in anticipation. Pre-orders for the console were slated to open February 8th, but have now been delayed indefinitely due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus. This comes from a statement given by Nintendo:

“ Due to the impact of the new outbreak of coronavirus infection, it is currently being produced in China for the Japanese domestic market. The impact on the shipment of Nintendo Switch Collectible Animal Crossing Set is expected to be inevitable….Similarly, shipments of the currently out-of-stock “Ring Fit Adventure” are expected to be delayed.”

Take-Two Interactive announced in their fiscal third quarter report that the Outer Worlds’ Switch port, originally slated to drop next month on March 6th, is, “…now planned for fiscal year 20201”. Private Division, publishers of the Outer Worlds port to Switch, took to twitter to elaborate. They announced the 2019-nCoV has impacted the team and that they’re delaying the port.

A new Fortnite Harley Quinn skin dropping later today

In preparation of the new Birds of Prey movie coming out this Frida, Fortnite will have a new Harley Quinn skin available beginning today at 4:00 PM.

“The skin will feature two different versions of Harley Quinn’s outfits. The first, which Epic is calling the Lil Monster XoXo Harley outfit, is similar to her costume from Suicide Squad — though there are a few differences. The second costume, which players will have to unlock by completing challenges, is called Always Fantabulous Harley and is more similar to her Birds of Prey look,” (Goslin, 2020).

Unique sparrows coming to the Crimson Days event in Destiny 2

The Crimson Days event is Destiny 2’s Valentine’s Day celebration event. Next reset (Tuesday, February 11th), the event will begin and give players a week to play the Crimson Doubles mode. Anyone playing during the event can also earn an exclusive bow called The Vow, and a couple new sparrows that when ridden in pairs display the complete Crimson Days logo.

“ However, some of these other items — like the emote, ornament, and Ghost shell — are exclusive to Destiny’s real-money store (as mentioned later in the post). It’s unclear if the Sparrows will come from a quest or from the in-game shop,” (Gilliam, 2020).

BTW…

Let’s run some strikes on Steam, hit me up.

That’s it. Catch you tomorrow, peace.
